DRAWING
+++
"Iza, do you ever think of taking drawing class?"
"No! I want to have more time left ... for thinking."
"That's good! Do you know why mama do not bring you to any drawing class?"

"Because you are going to teach me!"
"I'm not teaching you either.
Drawing is a process of creation.
Every time we draw, we create.
It's driven by our heart, soul and feelings.
Once being taught (how to draw), we follow the other's track, but not our innate drive.
What we need to learn is to see, feel and appreciate.
Not drawing.
I'm pleased that you prefer not attending drawing class even though most of the children go to drawing classes.
Is technique important?
No. Not in the first place.
Our technique will be polished once we start create."
Iza didn't look at me but she's happy that there's no additional class :)
She kept on working out her own "thing"...

I'm swinging from one extreme mood to the other.
As a "coach" to our design team and "mentor" of iza, I experience a significant difference in advocating different minds which are predominated with different habits of thinking.
Some are so passive in listening, perceiving, retrieving, questioning, expressing, knowing ............
I'm EXTREMELY curious on how one perceives information, how one's brain works, what governs one's inclination towards his/her way of employing his/her knowledge ...
Iza's mind is still free from set frames. It's so bountiful when talking, creating, inventing, day dreaming, arguing ... with her. We always get inspired and provoked. I'm keen on knowing how to "prevent" the loss of a free [ no traffic jam ] mind ...
Still searching...

Weird

1

In iza's world, there is a girl (her classmate) who always lies (as proclaimed by iza) ...
therefore iza doesn't want to be her friend.
I wonder ...
" Has she ever lied to you? "
" Everthing she said is a lie."
" Really? "
" She denied that she was an APE when she was a baby! "
" Huh ... ??? "
" We are all evolved from apes, aren't we? "
" OOOOOOOOO...."

Weird

2

It's a silly story.
One day after school, iza was puzzled.
Very puzzled ...
"It's weird last time, it's even much weird this time!!!
Little zebra's mama is an elephant ...
and,
little tiger's mama is also an elephant.
Elephant mama can give birth to a zebra and also a tiger,
how can this be?"
Iza is being trapped.
She has fallen into this fancy association for almost 2 weeks,
without telling anybody!
The background is that children in the school are taught to read a Chinese poem every single week. The first one is "little Zebra", the second one is "Little Tiger"...
" If you found this strange, why didn't you ask me last time?"
" I thought that it's just like C (her classmate, whom is a mix of chinese and british !?) ... " iza has even given an explaination to this "phenomenon",
" But it is far too strange that elephant mama can give birth to anything ... "
Maybe she cannot accept her hypothetic assumption anymore :)
To explain why iza has mistaken the meaning of the poems:
+++
+++
The word " looks like" in chinese looks like the word "elephant".
I really enjoy her way of associating things together. It leads me into crazy imaginations.
Now when I look at iza, I want to open up her mind and see what's inside!

Last week, iza asked me this question...

Iza starts to write something ...

strange pieces ...
It's interesting to see the wrong written words and fragmented logics :)

The round little thing on the left corner is the front elevation of an eye ball with iris in details. =

BRUNO MUNARI

Extremely love this set of photos.
It's a hat, a mask of an owl, a kaleidoscope ...
iza built this up with 4 circular disks.

Acona Biconbi by Bruno Munari
The basic unit is a circular disk with a hole in the middle.
Disks can be folded and freely joined to form complex three-dimensional structure.
Available under the book section of Modernchild.
